General Questions:

Where can I learn more about how to use Steno3D?

Can I use any browser?

Most browsers work. With that said, we currently do not support Internet Explorer (IE). For the best experience with Steno3D, we recommend using up-to-date versions of the following:

  • Desktop (Windows, Linux, Mac OS): Google Chrome
  • Mobile (iOS) - Safari or Google Chrome

Are there any hardware constraints?

Any modern machine with a graphics card that supports WebGL should work. For the best experience, you can use a few tricks to optimize your visualizations:

  • If you are experiencing slow performance, we recommend disabling the custom transparency. To do so through the app, go to Project Settings.
  • It is best not to use a smartphone when on a data plan and without access to Wi-Fi.

Account Settings:

How do I change my username?

Currently, you cannot change your username.

Can I change the email address linked to my account?

Not at this time.

How do I change my password?

In your account settings, you will find our "Change Password" tab. Just follow the prompts.

Can I change my profile picture?

Currently, we support only a Gravatar image, a globally recognized Avatar that follows you.

How is my data protected within Steno3D?

All projects default to private. We are on the side of protecting our users' data. If you want to make your project public, enable this setting in your project's dashboard.

Pricing and Memberships:

How does your pricing work?

Our community plan allows members to upload one private project and unlimited public projects. Pro memberships allow users to upload 10 private projects into Steno3D using our client libraries. We have a discounted Academic plan. Apply for yours today here.

Can I try Steno3D for free?

Yes, get started today with a community plan.

What happens to my projects if I cancel my professional membership?

Your projects will stay in dashboard; however, you will be locked out of all private projects.

Who is eligible for your academic membership plans?

If you have a valid academic email address, you are eligible to apply for the membership. Contact us.

Billing and Invoicing:

What are my payment options?

Professional member subscriptions are paid via automatic monthly billing. We accept any major credit card. For more details, send an email to support@steno3d.com.

I want to cancel my professional membership. Can I get a refund?

You can downgrade to a community (free) plan in your account settings. Please note, your professional subscription will remain active until the end of the billing period for which you've already paid. For more details about charges and the billing policy, click here.
